Hacker
Not in the bad sense that I break into computer systems to get information I’m not allowed to see. That’s one of the few things I would definitely never do.
Luckily the term “lifehack” in social media broadened the definition of the term “hack”.
I’m a hacker in the sense that I repurpose parts or devices in a manner that was not intended by its designer. Usually looking for faster or cheaper ways to get to my goal.
Some hacks work, some don’t, but all I have tried have taught me something. And rest assured that I test my hacks thoroughly before I sell them to customers.
Inventor
I just can’t help it. Every time I see a problem I start thinking about how I could solve it. It started in my early childhood (huge thanks to my parents who supported me) and never stopped.
Having that fascination for how things are made, how technology solves all kinds of problems in various business fields. I walked and still walk, through the world with my “geeky eyes” driven by curiosity. And when I see a challenge, all these past impressions are inspirations on how to overcome it.
The final goal remains to create a great product offering an awesome user experience.
Entrepreneur
Inventing stuff is a passion that does not only apply to technology. Business models can be re-invented, too. In order to provide the most value to my customers I came to the conclusion that I also need to control the business.
I tried to work for others many, many times. But I was often held back by “that’s not our core business” or “we don’t do things like this”. Even when it was obvious to me that the customer value was subpar.
So since I haven’t found the “perfect company” yet, I will not rest until I have created it. Fully aware that this is a never ending task.
